Dr. Frank J. Costa is a urologist and is certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Costa also is a clinical associate professor of urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and director of the Urology Institute of Pittsburgh. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in general surgery and urologic surgery at UPMC.
Dr. Costa is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Urologic Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, and the American Society for Men’s Health. He was on the Medical Advisory board to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
He has published numerous articles in professional and lay publications, including the Gold Journal of Urology, the Journal of Men’s Health, Men’s Health Magazine, and Women’s Health Magazine. His awards include “Medical Professional of the Year” as well as repeated selection in Guide to America’s Top Physicians, “Top Doctor” by U.S. News and World Report and Castle Connelly Top Doctors. His directed health initiatives have reached over 25 million households in over 15 national magazine forums including Oprah, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and Men’s Journal, to mention a few.
He has regularly appeared on local, national, and international television interviews, web and radio programs to discuss men’s health and topics of urologic interest. He has conducted surgical workshops to train surgeons on advanced urologic surgical techniques both nationally and internationally and has produced several instructional videos.
